A swollen battery or device that becomes painfully hot needs qualified service. Do not puncture, compress, or continue charging it.
Establish a baseline
Compare battery use over a normal period instead of judging a single percentage drop. Record screen-on time, signal conditions, temperature, and what apps were active.
Review battery usage
Use the built-in battery settings to look for apps or services using substantially more power than expected. Update the app and system before removing important data.
Reduce the biggest demands
Brightness, navigation, video, gaming, hotspot use, poor signal, background location, and high refresh rates can all raise consumption. Change one meaningful factor at a time.
Check heat and signal
Weak mobile or Wi‑Fi signal can increase power use. So can direct sun, demanding apps, and charging while performing heavy tasks.
Consider battery age
Rechargeable batteries lose capacity with use and time. Unexpected shutdowns, rapid drops, or a system service warning can point toward battery wear.
